My Frame of Mind

These are my thoughts, however I may quote those who are smarter and wiser than I am.

Another Fab SB Getaway!

Sorry a tad late...but as soon as my vacation was over, I got the creepy coughy cold thing going around and went back to work to rest!

I actually got some scrapping done at our Stampin' Memories this time! We were fortunate enough to be able to stay an extra nite, and since I didn't have any hostess duties, got right down to scrapping!

In May of '09, we celebrated 10 Scrappin Years together! Wow! That's somethin, eh?
Here's a layout I did to celebrate the event...I usually don't handwrite my journaling but as someone better than I mentioned that our handwriting is as important as the story...of course she had really, really cute penmanship! just click on the picture if you dare to read the story...

Haven't done the title area to intro the great, special guest that weekend, Bren Yule!

I love the topper, which I used the fab acrylix stamps to "split" the words...

What You Lookin' at?

This could be my mood today...5 days without a coffee pot can do that to a person.

For the lack of anything remotely exciting happenin' n da Hood, I thought I'd grab some random shots of Haley's adventures down Under and share with you. It's nice to live through the adventures of someone's youth who has traveled the world whilst I live n' da Hood.

Her traveling companion.

Not to out-do her mother, drama all around at the airport but she made it!

and how nice that the Aussie's planned fireworks for her arrival!

Then they were nice enough to share the worst dust storm in over 70 years with her...

The girl can make friends wherever she lands.

Most of those new friends had 2 legs...
Some had 4 legs +....

and like her friends back home, some like to lay around and appear drunk all danged day!

I Know It's Been a Week...but REALLY another year...

Yes Yes, I know it's been almost a week since I've blogged..
Yes Yes, I know you're all just wondering where the heck I've been...
Yes Yes, I know there have been no fabulous works of art or funny tales...

Well, here's the explaination to all 3:
I work 8 hours on the phone and have a 1 hour commute each way and have insomnia.
Ditto
Ditto

There. Feel for me yet?
No? Hey man...I thought you were my friends?
(play the violins now maestro)

Yesterday was DD's (darling daughter's)birthday. She turned 23.

If you're trying to do the math in your head to determine my age, lemme warn you. The medical experts are still trying to determine how a 5 yr old gave birth, so the research is not yet done.

As is one of the few quaint traditions here n da Hood, we take her to a restraunt of her choice for dinner.
Can you tell where we went?
My DD has inherently inherited the love of Martini's. That's 3 generations folks!
When I asked what she did on her birthday, she said, "this" and stuck her foot in my face.

Actually I'm embarrassed to say...I kind of like it...but don't tell Gramie.

HOLY MOTHER OF TOTES!

So all weekend I've been following the SB world of new gadgets and toys...drooling I should say!
My keyboard has had a dampness to it.
Three things I am positively sure of;
1.This is the new tote of my dreams

2.This is the new tool of my dreams.

3. I dream of going to CHA someday.

A little bit Shabby, a little bit UN-original! **Edited***

One of my very talented Team Members Shelley, designed this on no less than a 3 x 6 scrap paper!
My lowly interpretation using our newest kit Caboodle!

duh: here's the basic instructions!
The pattern is basically:
4 sheets 12 x 12 cardstock
Score on each end at 6"
The bottom left piece is folded up at a diagnal to the top left to form the pocket.
The bottom right is folded at a mountain fold to bend closed.
Then you close it shut and glue each back to each other inward by an inch or so.
(this is so the flexibility of the open book can sort of allow the cover to move inward.)

The cover was like 6.5'ish chipboard covered.
Glue your ribbon on the inside cover and back cover before you adhere it to the closed pages.

Oh Yes I Can!

"Hey TERri," mom yelled into the phone. "Can you look on the computer and see if you can find..."
Sure! Why, we can find anything "on the computer"! Of course since she doesn't get the whole "computer thing, what she means is the internet.
(see previous post)
It was there (on the internet) I found a You-Tube video with detailed instructions on how to fix the heater blower on my car  after 6...yaaaaaaas SIX long years without heat or a/c.
So when my neighbor saw my legs peeking out of my car, he (carefully wording his question as not to offend me) said, "you're not trying to fix your car...are you?"
I (muffled a few curse words first with my head under the dashboard) "oh YES I can!"

Anyhoot!
When said mother asked if I  would make some goodie bags for her Red-Hat  club's Birthday Bash this month I said, of course, "Yes I can!" (well my Cricut can anyways...)

So here's a preview of what I've been up to.
(in case you visit here often and find me lacking in posting which I am sure most don't!)

Have I mentioned how much I love my Cricut machine?

The Internet...either LOVE it or HATE it...**Edited**

For all the things that the great www brings us, a few things come to mind:

Sometimes it's hard to decide exactly where to go on the net.
  • And with all those choices, how much time do I spend there?
  • Do I fall into the whole I tweet therefore I am point of view?
  • Do I like to play games  apps on Facebook?
  • Do I encourage others to fully appreciate it or roll my eyes back into my head when someone else refuses to love  use all that it offers?
  • Can I possibly earn money on the www?
(why yes! but that's another issue altogether)
  • Will I use it for the betterment of all women (ok, maybe a few men) kind or just my own persuasions?

If you find that you agree with some but not all of the above, you are no different than millions of other computer owners (and some of those don't even know what "the net" or the "www" really mean. You know who you are, come on, admit it)

Just don't call me with your puter issues. I am not the Geek Squad.

I like sharing things I found on the net...crafts, coupons, great recipe sites, (we know I don't cook but they are still great!), photography help,  general info about a certain cold, dead and sparkly person I find fascinating.

    But for all of the above, one thing I know to be true;
The internet connects me to lost friends from my past that I loved then and as of recently found, still do!

The miracle of talking live to a loved one in another country face to face? Wow!
Chatting with high school friends who are snowed in and drunk? Fun, fun, fun!
Chatting with current friends and the trials of what we call our lives as they are. Meaningful.
Old business acquaintances the you use to chat with all nite! Be still my heart.
Sharing creative ideas with someone clear across the world! Earth shattering.
Watching movies on-line when I can't (or don't want to) go to a theatre. Over the top.
**AND as of late...a you-tube on how to fix the heater/AC in my CAR!!!

So say what you will about the internet, but tread carefully with your words because
...it's my NEW and OLD BFF!!!
