Could it be that 22 years has past?
Seems like yesterday she was just playing with beaded babubles and stuffed dogs...
now it's the real deal.

Birthdays Galore...

It just seems like I have a lot of birthdays in January...co-workers, aunt, and daughter.
Here's a card I made tonite (quickly) for a co-worker using the new Kanji Phrases stamp set and the beautiful new papers from the Unforgettable pack.
Sorbet inks, chocolate and pink ribbon.
See those different looking anchors securing the stamped images?
Those are brass paper clips from my (deceased) grandfather's work bench.
Back in the day , they were called paper fasteners and came in a round paper mache -like container. I saved the label and glued it to the lid of a mini jar. The jar sits on my embellishment shelf, and everytime I look at it, I think of "Big Poppo".
I only use them for special projects.

Mini Album Thirty & Flirty

Here's a giftie to the birthday girl from the previous layout.
I used the cute coveralls you can buy for use with the Bind-It-All and our Daydream Paper Pack, Rub-Ons and all sorts of goodies laying around...

Drats! I ran out of black rub-ons...so had to use white that says;
Zero-2-3rdT in a blink

thanks for stoppin' by!

Rub Ons, Color Ready Alpha Stickers and Daydream Papers

I know I know...it's been a whole week since I posted.
No excuses.
Honest.
(I could never tell anyone that it took me a whole week to make this layout)
It didn't. It only took 6 days!
Here's some cool new techniques and toys.
Color Ready Alpha Stickers. Pretty Cool!
Tresa Black showed us how to stamp right on them to give them some personality!
First place them on either wax paper or Craft Sheet.
Stamp right on them. Go on! It's cute!

I then stuck them on black cardstock then trimmed out to make them "pop" .
Here's a close-up.
What's that bubble thing you ask?
It's one of our Clear Window charms to magnify a cute necklace.

Here's the whole left side of the layout.
Don't I look great?!

Not really...no no, not really don't I look great...it's not really me!
(did the name on the cake give that away?)
Here's the right side of the layout.
Rub ons on three sides of the bottom picture
See those little pictures on the right edge?
It was a display board with a collage of pictures of the birthday girl. (ohthecleavernessofme)
And rub ons with the saying, "Zero 2 30 in a blink".

Yup...the first 30 years of one's life goes in a blink.
I remember 30
I was 6 months pregnant with Haley.
I didn't feel flirty.
I sure didn't feel young.
And I'm pretty sure I waddled.
I remember 30.

F.E.S. n da Hood!

Ya just gotta laugh along with them...
Here's Haley, Morgan and Warren.
All 3 from the USA (well Warren is actually from Canada via Texas) and all 3 were in Sweden together for a year.
This is the first time they've all been together since they got home in '06 and came over for dinner tonite.
Hearing them talk about things I wasn't suppose to know while they were there, well...it was sort of d'ja'vous, ya know?
I mean there are all sorts of things my mother is just never meant to hear about me.
In fact, I don't care WHAT people think of me as long as she doesn't find out alot of things.
And that's all I can say because my Aunt Pat reads my blog!

The fact that while they were living in a foreign country doing these things was ok with me.
What I didn't know ok so I did read her blog wouldn't hurt me.

It was really funny watching Haley point to me and say, "see where I get it from?"
Because ya know...I do that too...point at my mother and say, "see where I get it from?" People just don't believe I grew up with a brunette I Love Lucy.

Anyways, watch for this young man sometime in the future accepting his Golden Globe or Academy Award for film making...I can tell he's "goin places".

For now, he's goin along with Haley and Morgan to Chico, San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf and Winchester House in San Jose.

Watch out California....Foreign Exchange Students are on the loose!

Dog-Toe-Pia Album

Ya know how you can normally whip something out in a weekend?
Well.....normal is not withstanding shingles.
So this is for my friend in NC, (by way of Florida) who just opened a Dogtopia!
Who'da thunk that doggie daycare would be such a hit! Sure wish I could check-in for a day.

The blue kerchief is what all the "guests" rec'd on opening day...so yea! I used it on the cover!

These are blank pages for add'l photos of guests...

Joy, Joy, Joy (in my Heart!)

Actually, this is called the Joy fold card!
IF I had a vid camera, I could make you a really cool tutorial for making this cute card, but I don't. (Tresa Black, Tracy Mason, Nona Davenport, and PW...I ain't!)

So what I will do, if anyone is interested, will write out the measurements and post later...just let me know!

Again...used the Keys To My Heart papers and stamp set!
Love it!

the key is from the stamp set...but in real life it was too long for this area.
Do ya wonder how I "shortened" it?

The stamp on the left flap is all one stamp...however! the nice thing about the Acrylix stamps from Close to My Heart is you can use some really sharp scissors and "alter" them. I cut out the middle lined part so I could use just the frame separately and the lined image separately too!

I am drained from "world class customer service" today at work...
Enjoy!

More Keys to My Heart Papers

Just can't get enough of these papers...at some point I'll miss not having them to scrap with, but that's the way it goes with a great special!
I used to big brads and the metal corner is from our embellishment line.
The center of the heart is filled with Liquid glass. It needs something else (somewhere) but if I play more with it, I'll probably ruin it!
Have a great day!

We have a Winner!

This is a Pink Lemonade Tree that my daughter bought her dad for Father's Day last year.
Yes, it's cold (aka freezing here)..
and Yes, we live in a rural area where frost can just about wipe out anything you plant.
and Yes, those are christmas lights under a plastic tarp keeping the frost off that pampered, darned Pink Lemonade Tree (notice how the other winter veggies were NOT covered?)
Our winner is Shannon! (although it wasn't a tomato plant) You still came the closest!
Please email me with your info at indahood15@aol.com
(glad to hear you love CTMH products...they happened to be right up there along with t!m for me, too)

What IS It? and giveaway, too!

Go ahead...make my day...and take a guess at what this is...you could win a goodie from the Spring 09 Close To My Heart Idea Book.
Now keep in mind the following facts;
I live in a rural area
I live in a mobile home (not a trailer mind you)
It's cold outside, babeeeee!
(and no...it's not a nest of alien eggs)

SuRpLieS!

No, I didn't have an accent trying to type Surprise in the title...
and no, I didn't mean surprise! I posted twice in one day, either!

I have a SURplus of suPLIES and need to sniff, touch and create with them!
(and I was just determined to get in here and do something creative, dammit)

Aren't these papers yummy? The latest and greatest National Paper Crafting special from Close To My Heart is called "Key to My Heart" and even without the stamp set, I drooled over this one...ok, I admit it, I drooled AND slurped when I saw the set!

The cute pin is our new Pretty Pins...but I took off the beads that were on the pin and added some that I thought matched better and holding them in place is our Liquid Glass.
The ribbon is from the new Sorbet Ribbon Round collection.
Ink color for the verse is Sorbet and sponged the outter edge with Juniper.

The day off is almost over...back to work tomorrow ( I know, dumb, eh?)

HaPpY NeW YeAr!!!!

It's that time again....a New Year. It's the time that most people strive to make resolutions.
That traditionally are doomed for failure.
My resolution many years ago that I have been successful at was to stop making New Year's resolutions!
I have thoughts of things I will try to be better at, but won't list them here just in case someone suspects they are a resolution.
For example...if I had made a resolution that I would post a piece of artwork every.single.day, well there ya go...doomed for failure.
However, if you see a new piece of artwork every OTHER day, well....you see that it was something I thought I would try to be better at!
Ha.
So just in case you thought this 2009 banner is my artwork for today, then you are surprised and happy! (and....there's no pressure for me to make a mess in my studio today!)

Meanwhile, eat your pinto beans or minuedo today just to make sure you have a prosperous new year.

(see? as you can see, I am going to try to be better at using my sig line after each post from now on!)
